What makes a great research conference
ZINC Research and Dufferin Research have teamed up with The Future Place to conduct a larger project looking into what makes a great conference. This research will be used to assist in guiding MRIA’s conference portfolio and associated initiatives.

This research builds on Ray Poynter's work on market research presentations [download a copy here http://tinyurl.com/d5e7n8 or the Research article here http://tinyurl.com/m962zl].

Here's how this works. The first step is a survey, which will link to live updates of the data for people taking part, and then to a report that will be published and made freely available.

You can take the survey inside Facebook by using this link:

Or you can take the free standing survey by using this link:

Please note, this survey has been sent to research and marketing professionals around the world. It is one of goals to raise the profile of our conference offering on the international stage and build bridges with other associations.

Many thanks
Brian F. Singh
MRIA Conference Portfolio Chair

MRIA BC Chapter:
Survey Opportunity – Simon Fraser University Business Analytics Graduate Program

Simon Fraser University (SFU) is planning to develop a Master of Science program in Business Analytics and they are currently collecting industry opinions via online surveys regarding such a graduate program. SFU is hoping to talk to a variety of companies who use analytics to drive business decisions, such as the extensive use of customer/corporate data to create useful metrics and the associated use of analytic methods such as predictive modeling.

Through a short confidential survey, SFU hopes to get valuable feedback on the proposed curriculum, industry’s current use of analytics, and employment prospects for Business Analytics graduates (both practicums and employment). Feedback from companies will ultimately aid in the development of a program which appropriately fits with industry needs and best practices.
