New media and traditional values: What is the real impact of digital technologies on how youth spend their attention, time and money?
We are in the midst of a revolution in marketing communications and advertising. The consumers of tomorrow have grown up immersed in digital technologies that enable access to information, friends and fun like never before. But what do “digital natives” think about their place in the world and communities and companies they interact with? Using a unique combination of qualitative (BigReach Learning’s FacesofChange project) and quantitative (Studentaward’s Uthinkonline panel) research, we will uncover how Canadian’s age 16 to 24 are spending their time, their attention and their money. We’ll explore their attitudes and activities relating to social media, privacy, the environment and more. Gain insight into how youth engage with media, brands and the world around them and discover what they believe the future holds in this exciting multimedia presentation.

President Studentawards Inc.
Suzanne has over 20 years of business experience in publishing, mobile communications and loyalty marketing. As President of Studentawards Inc., Suzanne is committed to helping students succeed in their pursuit of higher education. Suzanne got her BA from Western in 1987 and returned there to get an MBA in 1996—she counts her lucky stars because her graduating MBA class was the first to boast the Ivey name—and the second to last to benefit from tuition under $3,000 per year! Since success at college or university is often dependent upon financial factors, it is Suzanne’s mission to help as many people as possible find money for school through Studentawards.com.
Studentawards Inc. is Canada’s leading conduit to the thinking and intentions of students nationwide. We operate www.studentawards.com, www.boursetudes.com and www.uthinkonline.com, and we have over 13 years’ experience developing long term relationships with students, their parents and educators. With input from our over 500,000 opted-in student members, we help research firms and corporations gain insight into the hard-to-reach teen and young adult demographic. The Studentawards community is highly responsive to the innovative, digitally-driven marketing, scholarship and grant programs we develop for our partners and clients.
Not only do we have access to the student mind, but students from all over Canada visit our websites to find money for school. Studentawards.com (and its French counterpart boursetudes.com) offers a free scholarship search service devoted to helping high school, university and college students find information about scholarships, bursaries, grants, fellowships and other forms of financial assistance. We feature scholarships, bursaries, awards and cash prizes made possible through the generosity of companies that believe in students’ future education. Engaging, understanding and giving back to students is what we do every day.
